SURABAYA, October 25, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) and the Pamekasan Regency Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday evening (25/10). The MoU outlines the provision of financial services aimed at the electronification of regional financial management and the optimization of regional revenue in Pamekasan Regency. Held at the Fairfield by Marriott Hotel Surabaya, the document was signed by bankjatim’s SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional, Koerniawan Prijambodo, and the Acting Regent of Pamekasan, Masrukin. Simultaneously, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between bankjatim’s Pamekasan Branch and PDAM Tirta Jaya Pamekasan regarding real-time online bill payment reception for the regional water utility.

President Director of bankjatim, Busrul Iman, explained that the future roadmap with the Pamekasan Regency Government includes regional treasury management, non-cash transaction services, and the optimization of regional revenue. Meanwhile, the synergy with PDAM ensures that water bill payments from customers and collectors can be processed in real-time.

According to Busrul, bankjatim—as a cornerstone institution for the East Java community—remains committed to driving business growth through strategic collaborations with local governments. “It is our obligation to synergize in developing and empowering East Javanese regions toward excellence, supported by bankjatim’s optimal services. Therefore, we warmly welcome this partnership, as bankjatim has a strong drive to enhance business potential and financial transaction collaborations with both Regional Governments and Regional Owned Enterprises (PERUMDA) in East Java, specifically Pamekasan,” he asserted.

This commitment is further evidenced by several recently completed initiatives, such as the branding of Kolpajung Market—the largest market in Pamekasan—by bankjatim’s Pamekasan Branch. The branding project, which includes benches, fruit racks, and directional signage, is now 100% complete. Furthermore, bankjatim has digitalized the financial ecosystem for all traders in Kolpajung Market by deploying QRIS for 1,217 merchants. To further support the traders' financial activities, bankjatim Pamekasan will soon inaugurate a Payment Point Office at Kolpajung Market, which will also facilitate PDAM bill payments for the local community.

“We hope to remain a steadfast partner for the Pamekasan Regency Government in driving economic growth, developing regional potential, and improving the welfare of the Pamekasan people. We trust this signing will bring mutual benefits, ensuring our products and services continue to serve our customers and the broader Pamekasan community effectively,” Busrul expressed.

Masrukin added that the Pamekasan Regency Government is continuously promoting transparency by prioritizing non-cash transactions to ensure accountability and robust financial management. This initiative is designed to minimize regional financial leakage. ”Thus, we extend our gratitude to bankjatim for being a strategic partner in regional finance and development. We hope this collaboration remains productive and continues to strengthen, supporting good governance and positively impacting public welfare,” he concluded.
