Supporting Madiun Sugarcane Farmers, Bank Jatim Re-Signs Cooperation Agreement with PT PG Rajawali I

SURABAYA, September 11, 2023. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk or bankjatim again collaborated with PT Rajawali I Sugar Factory. After some time ago the two companies signed a cooperation agreement in Malang, now bankjatim signed another cooperation agreement with PT Rajawali I Sugar Factory in terms of utilizing credit products for working capital for sugarcane cultivation of all sugarcane farmers assisted by PT PG Rajawali Unit PG Rejo Agung Baru Madiun. Located in the Bromo Room of bankjatim Head Office, the cooperation agreement was signed by Director of Micro, Retail and Medium bankjatim R. Arief Wicaksono and President Director of PT Rajawali I Sugar Factory Daniyanto on Monday (11/9).

Arief said, it has become an obligation of bankjatim which is a BUMD owned by the Government of East Java Province and regencies / cities throughout East Java to continue to synergize with all BUMN, BUMD, and stakeholders in East Java. Including, working on the agricultural sector. "With the signing of this Cooperation Agreement, there must be many things that we can collaborate together and God willing, it will be beneficial for farmers under PG Rejo Agung Madiun," he said.

Through cooperation in terms of utilization of credit products, continued Arief, bankjatim will provide capital support for sugarcane farmers in Madiun in the hope that this additional working capital can increase yields, both in terms of quantity and quality of sugarcane. "So that farmers can further maximize the potential that exists and can be more prosperous of course," said Arief.

In addition, on that occasion he also explained the bank's credit portfolio. "The credit portfolio that we have distributed today, especially to the people of East Java, is around Rp 51 trillion. Of that figure, 50 percent is productive credit and around Rp 13 trillion is credit to MSMEs. Hopefully, with this cooperation agreement, the nominal can continue to increase optimally," he explained.

Arief also hopes that the signing of this cooperation agreement can become a space for friendship and a forum for mutual ideas and innovations for all parties for the realization of safe and comfortable services, especially for sugarcane farmers at the Rajawali I sugar factory. The signing of the cooperation agreement is also expected to increase the number of sugarcane farmers in Rajawali I.

Meanwhile, Daniyanto welcomed this cooperation. He really hopes that this cooperation does not stop at the signing. Rather, it must be executed as soon as possible so that in the future it can facilitate farmers in terms of financing. "We certainly hope that this cooperation agreement can help sugarcane farmers in terms of financing which will certainly have an impact on increasing productivity and affect the achievement of national sugar self-sufficiency," he said.
