Bali, May 31, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has once again carved out a remarkable achievement. This time, BJTM brought home an award from The Asian Post (Infobank Media Group) during The Asian Post Best Regional Champion 2024 event held at The Stone Kuta, Bali. BJTM received the Excellent for The Financial Performance During September 2022–2023 award, in recognition of the company’s success as a regional development bank driving local economic growth while maintaining solid performance.

The award was presented by Member of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Indah Kurnia, along with Chairman of Infobank Media Group, Eko B. Supriyanto, to President Director of bankjatim, Busrul Iman, on Friday (May 31). The event was also attended by the Chief Executive for the Supervision of Financial Services Business Conduct, Education, and Consumer Protection — who is also a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Friderica Widyasari Dewi.

Busrul explained that the award from The Asian Post, in collaboration with Asbanda, is a form of appreciation for the company's hard work in delivering the best service to the public. This achievement also serves as motivation for all “Jatimers” to continue innovating and creating breakthroughs in financial and banking services.
“In recent years, we have been actively pursuing various transformation efforts to continuously achieve financial growth,” he said.

It is no surprise that bankjatim received this prestigious award from The Asian Post, as BJTM has recorded solid performance over the past two years. As of December 2023, bankjatim’s credit distribution reached IDR 54.7 trillion, marking a significant year-on-year (YoY) growth of 18.54%. Consequently, bankjatim’s total assets grew throughout 2023, reaching IDR 103.85 trillion. In terms of savings, bankjatim also saw a 9.38% increase.

In addition to driving various productive business sectors, bankjatim continues to accelerate payment system digitalization, including regional financial transaction digitalization, and actively promotes digital economic and financial inclusion through JConnect.

"Management is committed to continuously creating value so that the company can grow as a regional business entity with a broader orientation. With this, bankjatim can continue contributing optimally to regional economic development,” said Busrul.

He emphasized that in providing the best financial solutions, bankjatim has consistently improved across all business lines. These efforts are part of the company’s corporate vision and mission to become the number one regional development bank in Indonesia. Service quality improvements, digital transformation, and consistent solid performance have been key milestones that led bankjatim to win this award from The Asian Post.

"We would like to express our highest appreciation to all stakeholders for their support and trust in bankjatim. Hopefully, bankjatim can continue delivering the best for the nation’s progress,” he added.

During the event, Friderica Widyasari Dewi also remarked that the role of Regional Development Banks (BPDs) as economic drivers is becoming increasingly vital. As banking institutions, BPDs have significantly contributed to regional economic growth through their intermediation functions.
“BPDs have played a key role in boosting local economies, both through credit distribution and fund collection. We’ve seen how BPDs support regional economies, for example, through loans to MSMEs,” she said.

Eko B. Supriyanto added that as a form of appreciation for the Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) across various provinces, The Asian Post aims to recognize the performance they have delivered. “So far, BUMDs in the financial sector have made a major contribution to regional development through local revenue (PAD) and have played a role in driving the people's economy. Based on this, The Asian Post seeks to reward BUMDs that have significantly helped advance local economies, and we hope that BUMDs across Indonesia will continue to synergize to build the nation’s economic growth,” he stated.
