SURABAYA, November 10, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has successfully hosted the 2024 Spectacular Regional-Level Simpeda Savings Prize Draw. Held at Ciputra World Surabaya on Sunday evening (10/11), the annual gala was attended by the Acting Governor of East Java, Adhy Karyono, bankjatim President Director Busrul Iman, and the bank's full Board of Commissioners and Directors. The event featured a special performance by guest star Gildcoustic and served as the grand finale to the bankjatim Expo, which ran from November 7 to 10, 2024.

Busrul Iman explained that the bankjatim Expo and the Simpeda Prize Draw served multiple strategic purposes. Chief among them was reinforcing bankjatim’s identity as a customer-centric institution committed to excellence in service while strengthening relationships with existing loyal customers.

Furthermore, through this initiative, bankjatim fostered synergy and collaboration with various partners and enterprises, including property developers, automotive dealers, and bankjatim-mentored MSMEs. ”Notably, in this year’s Simpeda draw, the total prize pool distributed to customers reached IDR 6.65 billion. We believe this event has a tangible impact on the community’s economy, particularly for the MSMEs participating in our expo,” Busrul elaborated.

Busrul emphasized that the bankjatim Expo is a manifestation of the company’s commitment to actively promoting East Javanese MSMEs, helping them grow and gain wider public recognition. This role solidifies bankjatim’s position as a Regionally-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) that acts as a pillar of regional economic growth. ”We also express our gratitude to the Acting Governor of East Java for his presence and support. This synergy makes bankjatim stronger and ensures we continue to provide value to our stakeholders and the wider community,” he added.

During the event, Adhy Karyono highlighted the critical importance of banking support in helping MSMEs "scale up." He noted that MSMEs are central to driving the wheels of the East Javanese economy. ”Metaphorically, bankjatim has become a 'foster parent' for MSME actors, providing extensive support and empowerment to help them reach the next level,” he stated.

Adhy further explained that MSMEs proved their resilience as the backbone of the economy during the Covid-19 pandemic. Their annual contribution to East Java’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) continues to rise. ”The attention and synergy between the East Java Provincial Government and bankjatim give us optimism that bankjatim will play an increasingly active role in mentoring MSMEs,” he remarked. Looking forward, Adhy encouraged continued collaboration between the government and the banking sector to ensure MSMEs can compete not only domestically but also in global markets.

Under the theme “Groovy for The Better Future,” this year’s prize draw began with the official sealing of the draw laptops by designated witnesses. The proceedings included the drawing of IDR 50 million and IDR 100 million prizes for 41 branches. As the highlight of the evening, the Acting Governor and the CEO of bankjatim jointly drew the Grand Prize of IDR 500 million. The event also served as the official launch platform for the Agen Jatim Gen 2 application and the "Best Costume" awarding ceremony.
