Increase the Effectiveness of Regional Expenditure, Bank Jatim Together with Bondowoso Regency Government Launching KKPD

BONDOWOSO, May 15, 2024. To improve the effectiveness and accountability of regional spending, the Bondowoso Regency Government together with PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) officially launched the Regional Government Credit Card (KKPD) on Wednesday (15/5). Located in the Ballroom of Grand Padis Hotel Bondowoso, the activity was attended by Pj. Bondowoso Regent Bambang Soekwanto, bankjatim IT & Digital Director Zulhelfi Abidin, and Bank Indonesia Representative Head Jember Gunawan.

Zulhelfi explained, this KKPD has many benefits. One of them is making it easier for local governments to spend the budget as needed. Then, the essence of the KKPD itself can certainly make regional financial management more accountable, transparent, faster, less bureaucracy and most importantly the potential for fraud can be minimized.

“Using KKPD can shorten administration because you can just swipe. In addition, every detail of spending through KKPD can be recorded all so that this can be a fortress for local governments in order to increase accountability to the community,” he explained. In this case, bankjatim cooperates with Bank BNI to provide KKPD issuance services.

Zulhelfi also said that the implementation of regional financial digitalization has become an urgency in an era like today. Because with digitalization, it can support effective and efficient regional financial governance to encourage transparency and accelerate local government transactions. “For information, the use of KKPD by local governments is already required by the central government. Well, the KKPD can be used to make payments for expenditures charged to the APBD. This proves that bankjatim is ready to support local government work programs. We hope that this cooperation can continue in the future and can have a positive impact on the economic growth of Bondowoso and East Java, “said Zulhelfi.

Meanwhile, Bambang Soekwanto said, the use of KKPD in Bondowoso Regency will continue to be encouraged so that all regional apparatus can use it. He hopes that the KKPD can increase budget absorption in Bondowoso Regency. “Most importantly, the regional apparatus that organizes this KKPD must also supervise its use. And we also hope that the use of KKPD can involve local products, especially in the procurement of goods and services,” he said.
