SURABAYA, October 16, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) continues to support the advancement of education through various programs. One of the tangible forms of this support is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), aimed at collaboration in the implementation of the three pillars of higher education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), human resource development, and financial services.
Held in the ITS leadership meeting room, the MoU was signed by Bank Jatim’s Director of Micro, Retail, and Medium Enterprises, R. Arief Wicaksono, and ITS Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni Affairs, Agus Muhamad Hatta, on Wednesday (October 16). Also present were ITS Rector Bambang Pramujati and Bank Jatim SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional Affairs, Koerniawan Prijambodo.
Arief explained that the upcoming cooperation plan with ITS covers several areas: education, research, community service, human resource enhancement and empowerment, as well as financial services, including bank account services and lending. “This partnership is also part of Bank Jatim’s business development efforts to reach a broader customer base and provide priority services through banking service facilities in the field of higher education’s three pillars, mutually supporting the duties and functions of both parties,” he stated.
Arief expressed hope that the synergy between Bank Jatim and ITS would optimize Bank Jatim’s financial service management and leverage the resources of both institutions for mutual progress. According to him, there are many potentials to be developed through this partnership. These include increasing Third Party Funds (DPK), especially from checking accounts, potential payroll services for lecturers and staff at ITS, and consumer credit services such as multi-purpose loans.
“In addition, there is an opportunity to optimize service and fund management within ITS, the potential for Co-Branding Student Cards and Bank Jatim ATM Cards for students, and the potential to generate fee-based income through Bank Jatim’s e-channel services. We hope this synergy continues well and brings benefits to both parties,” he added.
On this occasion, Bambang Pramujati expressed his deepest appreciation to Bank Jatim for the established synergy. He emphasized that a close collaboration between educational institutions and financial institutions is expected to create an ecosystem that supports sustainable and highly competitive industrial growth in Indonesia. According to him, this cooperation not only opens opportunities in developing payment systems but also provides platforms that broaden students’ knowledge and perspectives in facing real-world work challenges.
“We are grateful for the trust Bank Jatim has placed in collaborating with ITS to support the development of higher education’s three pillars. Hopefully, this partnership will continue to make a real contribution to ITS, Bank Jatim, and the nation,” he said.
