Encourage MSME Products Go International Through Trade Connect Bank Jatim 2024

SURABAYA, February 26, 2024. In order to support export growth in Indonesia and East Java, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk or bankjatim has signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Indonesian Export Companies (GPEI) in the Trade Connect bankjatim 2024 event on Monday (26/2).

Located in the Morazen Hotel Surabaya Ballroom, the PKS on Export Community Development and Strengthening East Java Exports was signed by the Director of Finance, Treasury & Global Services bankjatim Edi Masrianto and Head of Surabaya Export Center Manager who is also the Secretary General of the DPP GPEI Toto Dirgantoro. Then the MoU on Financial Services was signed by Edi Masrianto and Chairman of DPP GPEI Benny Sutrisno. Also present on the occasion were 17 MSMEs fostered by bankjatim.

Edi explained, the scope of PKS with GPEI includes many things. Among other things, export training, community development, use of bankjatim services and services, to GPEI business matching facilities both online and offline. All of these facilities can be enjoyed by IKM and SME businesses, including communities that have superior export-oriented products in East Java.

"bankjatim will provide assistance to support the implementation of community development programs in East Java, facilitate as a resource person in training and community development activities, especially in the field of banking services, to provide support to SMEs / SMEs in the form of assistance in sending product samples to prospective buyers abroad online business matching activities," he said.

Then, related to the MoU with GPEI East Java on Financial Services it includes cooperation plans in the fields of funding, lending, and various other banking transactions. "Well, through the signing of PKS and MoU, hopefully MSME players will be able to increase competitiveness and be able to introduce East Java products and industries in the global market," said Edi.

In addition to PKS and MoU, in Trade Connect bankjatim 2024 activities also take place business matching that can increase the connection of MSMEs with overseas buyers, especially the American market which is also presented now. According to Edi, Trade Connect bankjatim 2024 is one form of the company's commitment to be able to continue to accompany the fostered partner customers and at the same time become a bridge in order to create opportunities and open new markets. The goal is that bankjatim's fostered partner customers are able to compete, upgrade, and in the future can export independently.

"Because usually MSMEs are often constrained in expanding markets and competing effectively. Therefore, we hope that through this business matching, MSMEs can learn together and explore opportunities until later their products can go international and dealing transactions occur. In this case, bankjatim will also get a positive impact such as an increase in DPK and trade finance transactions, "said Edi.

His party is committed to continuing to encourage business actors to enliven foreign markets. This is because exports have a significant role in the country's economic growth and have the potential to create new jobs and contribute to foreign exchange. "Therefore, we must continue to encourage the increase in exports," said Edi.
