BANYUWANGI, April 28, 2025. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) is continuously distributing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance as a form of social responsibility to the community. This time, Bank Jatim provides CSR to the Banyuwangi Regency Government in the form of the rehabilitation of 14 units of Uninhabitable Houses (RTLH), the procurement of 20 units of 120 L trash cans, 20 square trash cans, and 1 unit of a mobile library vehicle. Located at the Pendopo Sabha Swagata Blambangan, the CSR was symbolically handed over by Bank Jatim Director of Finance, Treasury & Global Services Edi Masrianto to the Regent of Banyuwangi Ipuk Fiestiandani.

Edi explained that the purpose of providing these several CSR items is, among others, to improve the housing quality of people living in uninhabitable homes into healthy houses and is expected to provide a direct impact on the process of accelerating poverty alleviation. This RTLH rehabilitation assistance is synergistic with the house renovation program launched by the Banyuwangi Regency Government.

In addition, through the mobile library vehicle, Bank Jatim also wants to contribute to supporting the program of cultivating a love for reading in Banyuwangi so that it can further strengthen the literacy activities that have been implemented. “We want to increase access to educational resources for students and the community as well as improve the quality of library services to the community so that an even distribution of information sources can be created,” he detailed.

It doesn't stop there. The company also wants to fulfill waste management infrastructure facilities to realize the vision of Banyuwangi becoming free from waste and a world tourist destination through an integrated and sustainable waste management system.

According to Edi, Bank Jatim continues to be committed to supporting all development programs of Banyuwangi Regency. Not only as a financial institution, Bank Jatim must also be a strategic partner for the region. “We want to contribute directly to driving progress in education, the environment, and community welfare,” he continued.

Edi added that the Bank Jatim Peduli CSR Program is a tangible form of synergy between Bank Jatim and the local government in improving the standard of living for the community. “We hope this small step can be a catalyst for big change. Banyuwangi is a region that continues to grow and we want to always be a part of that journey. Because, we believe that sustainable development must involve many parties and mutual collaboration,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, Ipuk Fiestiandani expressed appreciation to Bank Jatim for the tangible contribution provided to the community. According to her, building the region is not just the task of the local government but also the duty of everyone in that region. “Therefore, we must join hands and synergize,” she added.

Regarding the mobile library vehicle assistance, Ipuk explained that this new unit will be focused on serving people in remote areas that are difficult to reach by larger mobile library fleets. This addition to the fleet is part of the Banyuwangi Regency Government's efforts to improve literacy, especially for children.

“This mobile library not only provides books but will also be filled with various other educational activities. This is part of our effort to increase literacy among children—not just through books, but also other activities such as writing lessons, poetry, and storytelling," she concluded.
