Bank Jatim Synergizes with Malang City Government to Revitalize the Square

MALANG, August 23, 2023. In order to establish synergy between PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk or bankjatim with the City Government (Pemkot) of Malang, bankjatim has officially carried out a cooperation agreement with the City Government of Malang regarding the Revitalization of Merdeka Square Malang City. Located in Alun-Alun Merdeka, the cooperation agreement was signed by bankjatim Malang Branch Manager Kamiliah with Malang Mayor Sutiaji and witnessed by bankjatim IT and Digital Director Zulhelfi Abidin on Wednesday (23/8).
Zulhelfi explained, this revitalization is a series of activities to increase the value of assets and facilities and functions of Malang City Square as agreed. In addition, it is also a corporate social responsibility to the surrounding environment.
According to Zulhelfi, the revitalization of the square actually has a broad meaning in providing benefits to the local community. Because, many economic activities stretch in the square area. In addition, this place can also be a place for various activities and tourist destinations for residents. "If the square is good, then the people must be happy," he said.
Revitalization of Malang City Square which is a public open space is expected to add beauty and increase the attractiveness of the community and visitors when coming to Malang City. So that the icon of Malang City can be even stronger. "We also hope that this square can later become a digital center. Such as paying parking fees using digital, paying taxes using digital, and others," said Zulhelfi.
In addition, he also advised that bankjatim Malang Branch can continue to synergize and go hand in hand with the program run by the City Government of Malang to increase economic growth and develop regional potential. "Hopefully bankjatim is always committed to being a good partner for the City Government of Malang and our services can continue to be useful for all customers, especially in Malang City," said Zulhelfi.
Meanwhile, Sutiaji appreciated and expressed his deepest gratitude to bankjatim for being willing to brand and revitalize Malang City's Merdeka Square. He hoped that this collaboration can be useful to support the municipal government program and for the surrounding community.
"As bankjatim hopes, hopefully this square can also become a center of digitalization. Because if Malang does not become digital it is a loss. Because, here there are dozens of universities that have IT majors/faculties. Every year there are also more than three thousand children who have the title of Bachelor of IT. Hopefully this can complement each other," he explained. So that the number of people's literacy towards banking can increase even more.
In addition to the signing of the cooperation agreement, on the occasion also held the delivery of the grand prize prize savings cycle and awards to several OPDs that contribute greatly to bankjatim.
