BOJONEGORO, July 19, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to support various programs initiated by the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jatim). One such effort includes the disbursement of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) from the Revenue Sharing Fund for Tobacco Excise (DBHCHT) 2024 to cigarette factory workers across East Java. The distribution event, held at Koperasi Kareb Unit SKT MPS Kapas Bojonegoro on Friday (July 19), was attended by Acting Governor of East Java Adhy Karyono and bankjatim Director of Micro, Retail, and Medium Business R. Arief Wicaksono.

Adhy explained that this round of BLT DBHCHT was distributed to 393 cigarette factory workers from Koperasi Kareb Unit SKT MPS Kapas Bojonegoro, each receiving assistance of IDR 1,031,145.59 through bankjatim’s Siklus Savings account.

For reference, the total number of recipients of the 2024 BLT DBHCHT for cigarette factory workers across East Java is 13,469 people, spread across 114 companies in 22 cities/regencies within 5 East Java Regional Coordination Areas (Bakorwil).

"This is part of the excise revenue-sharing BLT specifically for cigarette factory workers. Thankfully, the provincial government has allocated special funds for workers residing outside Bojonegoro or cross-regional workers. Meanwhile, workers with Bojonegoro ID cards have also received their allocation this month, distributed by the Acting Regent of Bojonegoro," he said.

Adhy hopes the additional incentive beyond their regular wages will be helpful, especially as children return to school. "The timing is perfect – right when children are going back to school. Moreover, nearly 90 percent of the workers here are women who are the breadwinners for their families," he added.

R. Arief Wicaksono stated that bankjatim acts as the distributing bank in this initiative. "This is also a concrete form of our concern for the surrounding community. We're not only focused on business – bankjatim is also committed to building strong values and contributing positively to society. Programs like this are part of our collective spirit to advance the economy," he explained.

Arief encouraged all employees who received the BLT to use the funds wisely and in ways that benefit local MSMEs in Bojonegoro.

"This aid can be spent at MSMEs, which will help circulate money within the local economy. That, in turn, can improve the welfare of Bojonegoro’s people," he emphasized.

He reaffirmed bankjatim’s commitment to continue collaborating with the East Java Provincial Government to improve the region’s economic conditions. "We hope bankjatim can keep making a positive contribution to the country. May today’s cash assistance bring blessings for all of us," Arief concluded.
