JAKARTA, October 22, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) continues to achieve remarkable milestones. Most recently, the bank successfully garnered two prestigious awards simultaneously from The Finance magazine on Tuesday evening (22/10). For the first category, bankjatim was named a Top 20 Financial Institution in the "Bank Assets IDR 100 trillion – <200 trillion" category with a "Very Good" rating. Additionally, bankjatim’s Director of Finance, Treasury & Global Services, Edi Masrianto, was honored as the Best CFO in the banking category by The Finance. Held at the Ballroom of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, both awards were presented by the Chairman of The Finance, Eko B. Supriyanto, and received directly by Edi Masrianto.

Edi expressed his deepest gratitude for the recognition bestowed by The Finance. He emphasized that this achievement serves as a powerful motivation for all "Jatimers" (bankjatim employees) to persist in their transformation efforts, maintaining positive performance to support both regional and national economic growth. ”This achievement is concrete evidence of our corporate dedication to providing positive contributions to the community. We will continue to innovate and enhance our service quality to deliver even greater benefits for the public and our customers,” he asserted.

The evaluation criteria for bankjatim were based on the bank's performance growth over the last three financial periods: June 2022, June 2023, and June 2024. Risk management profiles and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) ratings were evaluated using 2023 data. As of the first half of 2024, bankjatim has disbursed IDR 58.07 trillion in credit, representing an 18% year-on-year (YoY) growth. This growth demonstrates the company's capability to remain expansive in its lending activities despite pressures from rising interest rates and liquidity challenges. Furthermore, bankjatim's Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) stood at 71.6%, indicating a solid liquidity position.

Edi further explained that bankjatim has implemented several strategic innovations to respond to various challenges, including the adoption of advanced technology. These consistent efforts have resulted in numerous accolades, including these awards from The Finance. “The transformation undertaken by bankjatim is built upon five strategic pillars: organizational structure optimization, human capital development, strengthening the 'rule-making rules' framework, digital banking and information technology advancement, and corporate actions involving capital participation,” Edi stated.

Currently, bankjatim has successfully integrated digitalization across its business processes. This includes the enhancement of the JConnect digital platform and banking collaborations with various e-money providers and retail networks such as Indomaret and Alfamart. “We have also digitalized regional government finances and successfully implemented the Electronification of Local Government Transactions (ETPD). Payments for taxes, levies, and education can now be processed via virtual accounts or QRIS. All these initiatives are part of our commitment to achieving the vision of becoming the number one Regional Development Bank (BPD) in Indonesia,” he explained.

During the event, Eko B. Supriyanto explained that the Top 20 Financial Institutions Award 2024 is granted to the banking, insurance, and financing sectors based on a consecutive three-year performance evaluation. “This rating measures the performance of each financial institution using financial report data from the last three years. The primary objective of the Top 20 Financial Institutions Award is to incentivize companies and financial institutions to achieve even better performance in the future,” he concluded.
