MALANG, November 29, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) and the State University of Malang (UM) officially formalized a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday (29/11). The agreement focuses on the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), Human Resource Development, and the provision of Financial Services. Held at the State University of Malang, the MoU was signed by bankjatim’s SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional Banking, Koerniawan Prijambodo, and the Rector of the State University of Malang, Hariyono.

President Director of bankjatim, Busrul Iman, explained that in the field of education, bankjatim goes beyond providing efficient tuition payment facilities. The bank is deeply involved in strategic collaborations to elevate educational quality. The future roadmap for the partnership with UM encompasses various sectors, including education, research, community service, the empowerment of human resources, and comprehensive financial services such as bank account opening and lending facilities.

”We hope this collaboration creates a campus environment that is not only inclusive but also fosters a financially literate younger generation. As this partnership strengthens, we expect significant benefits for both parties—allowing bankjatim to expand its customer network while enabling the State University of Malang to enhance the quality of services provided to its academic community,” he remarked.

Busrul added that with its extensive network and modern banking facilities, bankjatim is ready to provide convenience for students and parents in accessing financial services that support the educational process. ”We understand that high-quality education is the key to increasing national competitiveness in the era of globalization. By supporting various educational initiatives, bankjatim strives to create a better ecosystem where students and educational institutions can synergize to build a brighter future,” he explained.

He further expressed hope that this signing would serve as a gateway to broader collaborations. Additionally, he emphasized that this partnership should be a starting point for both parties to collectively strengthen the economy of East Java. ”This collaboration is part of bankjatim’s business development strategy to reach a wider audience, providing priority services through banking facility mechanisms within the framework of the Three Pillars of Higher Education. We hope this synergy optimizes financial management and leverages the resources of both institutions for mutual progress,” Busrul stated.

On the same occasion, Hariyono expressed his highest appreciation to bankjatim for establishing this synergy. He noted that close collaboration between educational and financial institutions is essential to creating an ecosystem that supports sustainable and highly competitive industry growth in Indonesia. ”Thank you for the trust bankjatim has placed in us to support the State University of Malang in developing the Three Pillars of Higher Education.
