Addressing Clean Water Demands: Bank Jatim Synergizes with IZI for Drought Relief Program.

TUBAN, December 4, 2024. As a manifestation of corporate social responsibility to the environment, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) officially handed over Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia (IZI) on Wednesday (4/12). The assistance provided is a drought relief program consisting of the construction of a borehole (artesian well) and an ablution area in Tuban Regency. Held at the Khoirul Huda Mosque in Tuban, the aid was symbolically delivered by bankjatim’s AVP of Corporate Communications, Bambang Supriadi, and received by the Head of the IZI East Java Representative Office, Helmy Bachtiar Attamimy.
President Director of bankjatim, Busrul Iman, explained that this CSR assistance will provide several key benefits. Primarily, it will assist the community in meeting their needs for clean water for both worship and daily routines. Furthermore, it aims to improve public health through the provision of high-quality and sustainable clean water.
”As the largest Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) in East Java, bankjatim has a mandate to support the government in realizing the welfare of all Indonesians. Providing CSR in the form of a borehole and ablution area for the community in Tuban Regency is an active role, a tangible contribution, and a company commitment to continuously improve access and ensure equitable distribution of basic needs, especially in areas that require them most,” Busrul elaborated.
According to Busrul, beyond business operations, bankjatim aims to deliver values to the surrounding community. This goal is realized through the bankjatim CSR program. Moreover, this represents a synergy to implement social programs that foster a more environmentally friendly economy by involving stakeholders and shareholders in regional development. ”This assistance is a form of our appreciation to IZI, who has placed their trust and support in bankjatim as a partner in community care. We hope the cooperation between bankjatim and IZI continues to grow and move in alignment with IZI's programs to fulfill the demand for clean water,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Helmy Bachtiar Attamimy expressed his deepest gratitude to bankjatim for the synergy that has been well-established thus far.
