JAKARTA, March 20, 2025. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) successfully recorded positive performance throughout the past year. This was evident from the results of the Public Expose of the 2024 Financial Year Statements held on Thursday (20/3). Located in Jakarta, the presentation was attended by Bank Jatim President Director Busrul Iman; Director of Finance, Treasury & Global Services Edi Masrianto; Director of Micro, Retail, and Sharia Business R. Arief Wicaksono; and Director of Compliance Umi Rodiyah.
Busrul explained that 2024 served as a historical milestone for Bank Jatim following the implementation of the Bank Business Group (KUB) corporate action between Bank Jatim and Bank NTB Syariah. This KUB collaboration will create sustainable synergy not only in capital aspects but also in financial, business, and other supporting aspects to create new value between Regional Development Banks (BPDs) to build the nation together.
Bank Jatim's performance until the end of 2024 was quite positive. This financial performance is a consolidation that also includes the performance of the KUB member, Bank NTB Syariah. As of December 2024, Bank Jatim's consolidated asset value stood at IDR 118 trillion, up 13.7 percent compared to the previous year. The majority of this asset increase came from productive asset contributions, such as credit distribution growth of IDR 75.3 trillion (up 37.6 percent YoY) and third-party fund (DPK) management of IDR 90 trillion (up 15 percent YoY). “Based on that asset management, Bank Jatim in 2024 was able to record net revenue of IDR 5.7 trillion, an increase of 13.6 percent YoY,” he detailed.
Furthermore, looking at the net profit of Bank Jatim (bank only) throughout 2024, it successfully reached IDR 1.28 trillion. This figure managed to become the largest profit among all BPDs across Indonesia. “Amidst macroeconomic and domestic challenges, we are grateful that Bank Jatim is still able to record the best performance among the BPD peer group, especially in obtaining 'bank only' net profit for the 2024 financial year. This is in line with Bank Jatim's vision and mission to continue growing and developing into the No. 1 BPD in Indonesia,” Busrul asserted.
Busrul noted that Bank Jatim always strives to implement a balance between business achievement and broader benefits for all stakeholders. This is a deliverable item for Bank Jatim in the form of "value beyond profit" to support sustainable finance. This can be seen from the business lines where Bank Jatim has provided environmentally-friendly credit to several sectors, including: energy efficiency (IDR 2.40 trillion), sustainable biological natural resource and land use management (IDR 2.01 trillion), sustainable water and waste management (IDR 557 billion), and many more.
In addition, in 2024, Bank Jatim was active in distributing CSR in several fields. CSR for the education sector was distributed at IDR 2.76 billion, the health sector at IDR 3.93 billion, and other social activities at IDR 10.24 billion.
“We are confident that in 2025, Bank Jatim's business opportunities to grow are quite large. This can be seen from Bank Jatim's business capacity in 2025, which will be increased unorganically through KUB synergy with other BPDs. While in 2024 Bank Jatim synergized with Bank NTB Syariah, in 2025 this will be continued with 4 other BPDs that have already signed the Shareholder Agreement (SHA),” said Busrul.
Additionally, the enactment of the BPD Roadmap 2024 – 2027 will provide opportunities for Bank Jatim to become an anchor/strategic partner for BPR/BPRS (Rural Banks) to synergize in terms of business, governance, and other matters. This certainly gives Bank Jatim a larger positioning in market share control.
Furthermore, all utility usage of Bank Jatim's digital service, JConnect, also saw an increase. Busrul stated that to optimize banking services for regions with high business potential, Bank Jatim is also maximizing services through Agen Jatim. Besides banking transaction utility, Agen Jatim has proven capable of contributing to credit distribution growth, primarily through referral methods, with a total of 12,822 agents.
On the same occasion, R. Arief Wicaksono also conveyed that Bank Jatim in 2024 recorded credit growth of 16.98 percent (YoY). This figure successfully exceeded the national average growth, which was only 10.39 percent (YoY) according to the OJK. The composition of this excellent performance consisted of a consumptive credit portfolio of IDR 34.41 trillion (up 10.26 percent YoY) and a productive credit portfolio of IDR 29.65 trillion (up 25.88 percent YoY).
Meanwhile, in facing 2025 with existing challenges and potential opportunities, Bank Jatim's management has set performance guidance for 2025. Assets and DPK are targeted to grow by 2–3 percent. Credit is targeted to grow by 14–16 percent, continuing the credit growth of 2024. Management will continue to strive to maintain ideal and high-quality productive assets with sufficient provisioning, aligned with exponential credit growth, and ensuring that all potential risks remain within the risk appetite. Not only that, Bank Jatim will continue corporate strategic plans that provide both linear and unorganic business impacts, such as KUB, BPR consolidation, and other corporate actions.
