SURABAYA, June 27, 2024 – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) on Thursday (June 27) extended the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Magetan Regency Government regarding financial services aimed at electronic financial management and the optimization of regional revenue collection in Magetan Regency. The signing took place at the Bromo Room of Bank Jatim's Head Office and was conducted by SEVP of Corporate, Syndication, and Institutional Affairs at bankjatim, Koerniawan Prijambodo, and the Acting Regent of Magetan, Hergunadi. Also present to witness the signing were Director of IT & Digital at bankjatim, Zulhelfi Abidin.

Zulhelfi explained that in addition to providing electronic financial management services and optimizing regional revenue collection, the purpose of this agreement is to support the provision of excellent public services for the people of Magetan. He further explained that the scope of the MoU will include regional cash management and cashless transaction services.
“We hope that with the extension of this collaboration, it will enhance the corporate image of the company and further strengthen the institutional relationship that has been built between the bankjatim Magetan Branch and the Magetan Regency Government,” he said.

Zulhelfi also mentioned that the benefits of electronic financial management for the region are numerous, including achieving transaction transparency, more accurate economic planning due to comprehensive record-keeping, and of course, greater practicality. This is why bankjatim is continuously expanding its cooperation on electronification to provide optimal banking products for local governments.

He continued, saying that this collaboration is a tangible example of the strong synergy between bankjatim and the local government, specifically the Magetan Regency Government.
“Magetan is a promising and potential region in terms of business due to its economic potential, ranging from tourism to the creative economy sector. So, we are optimistic that this collaboration will be very beneficial for both bankjatim and the Magetan Regency Government,” he stressed.

Moreover, there are still many other opportunities that can be maximized within this collaboration. Considering Magetan has over 7,000 civil servants (ASN & P3K), more than 1,900 non-civil servants, and various other levies, this can significantly enhance the business performance of bankjatim. With these potentials, this collaboration is expected to help drive economic growth in Magetan.
“We are committed to continuously providing the best digital banking services for the government,” he said.

During the same event, Hergunadi also stated that the Magetan Regency Government continues to promote transparency by prioritizing cashless transactions to ensure accountability and transparency in regional financial management. This will help minimize the leakage of regional finances.
“Therefore, we thank bankjatim for being our strategic partner in regional finance and development. We hope this collaboration continues to improve and become more productive, supporting the creation of good governance and benefiting the welfare of the people,” he explained.

At the same event, the Government Credit Card (KKPD) was also handed over to Regional Work Units (OPD) in Magetan Regency. Both bankjatim and the Magetan Regency Government hope that the use of KKPD in Magetan will reduce idle cash from the use of working unit cash reserves, increase security, reduce fraud potential, and minimize the use of cash.
