Improving the Economy and Quality of Education, Bank Jatim Hand Over Two CSR at Once

MAGETAN, May 31, 2024. As a form of corporate social responsibility to the community, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has officially handed over two Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance at once in two different places on Friday (31/5).
First, CSR in the form of installing decorative sidewalk lights in the Telaga Sarangan neighborhood, Magetan Regency. The handover was symbolically carried out by bankjatim IT & Digital Director Zulhelfi Abidin to Pj. Magetan Regent Hergunadi at Suryagraha Hall, Magetan Regency.
Second, CSR in the form of scholarships for 66 students of Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya. The handover was carried out by the Head of bankjatim Surabaya Main Branch Johanes Koento Eko Pramono in a series of events Mangayu Bagyo 44 Warsa Wijaya Kusuma Foundation.
Zulhelfi explained, assistance installation of 30 decorative lampposts has many purposes. Among other things, to increase the potential and attraction value of Telaga Sarangan as a leading tourist attraction in Magetan Regency and reduce the risk of accidents in traffic and crime in the Sarangan Lake environment, especially at night.
“Of course our hope is that this CSR will not only beautify the Sarangan Lake area, but can also have an impact on increasing the number of tourist visits which in turn can strengthen the regional economy and increase transactions at bankjatim,” he explained.
According to Zulhelfi, the submission of CSR like this is a form of good synergy between bankjatim and Magetan Regency Government in the field of economy and tourism. Moreover, Telaga Sarangan Magetan has become a favorite tourist destination for local and foreign tourists when visiting East Java.
“We feel happy and happy because we can be directly involved to illuminate Telaga Sarangan which is known as the icon of Magetan. What we provide is a form of concern and a tangible manifestation of bankjatim in synergizing for development in Magetan Regency,” he said.
Hergunadi expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation for the facility assistance provided by bankjatim. “The placement of decorative lights on the sidewalk of the entrance to Telaga Sarangan will beautify the Sarangan tourist area. So that it can create a good tourist epicenter and of course economic growth will increase,” he said.
Meanwhile, the provision of CSR in the form of scholarships to 66 students of Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya is used to ease the burden of educational costs for outstanding and underprivileged students so that they can complete their education programs on time. In addition, it is also to improve achievement and motivation for students.
“This is a form of our support in the field of education. Because, the young generation is a generation that has great potential to build the future. Therefore, it must be fully supported in terms of education in order to build superior human resources,” said President Director of bankjatim Busrul Iman.
