PACITAN, May 21, 2024. As a form of implementation of the bankjatim Peduli program, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has just handed over Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the Pacitan Regency Government. The assistance provided was in the form of rehabilitation and arrangement of the Pacitan square sidewalk. Located at the Pacitan Regency Hall, the CSR assistance was symbolically handed over by bankjatim IT & Digital Director Zulhelfi Abidin to Pacitan Regent Indrata Nur Bayuaji on Tuesday (21/5).

Zulhelfi explained, the provision of CSR is a form of corporate social responsibility to the environment which is also in line with the objectives of bankjatim. Namely as a social value, not only in the field of education or health but also able to provide sustainable benefits to the community. “We hope that the rehabilitation and arrangement of the Pacitan Square sidewalk can beautify the appearance of the square as a public space as well as the face of the city, provide services to pedestrians and visitors, and increase the economic growth of the Pacitan district community considering that around the square there are many street vendors and MSMEs,” he explained.

According to Zulhelfi, the more beautiful Pacitan square will add a sense of comfort and increase public visits. The high number of visits, he believes, will trigger economic activity and growth in Pacitan. “If it has become a good epicenter, people will definitely come here comfortably. So that automatically there is economic activity in it and it is expected that many people will also save in bankjatim when the economy grows. Therefore, hopefully this cooperation with Pacitan Regency can continue to be well established in the future and can provide positive benefits for both parties, “he added.

Zulhelfi also admitted that his party felt happy and happy because it could be directly involved in beautifying the square which is known as Pacitan's icon. “Of course we are proud and happy because we have synergized with the Regency Government and participated in beautifying Pacitan square. What we provide is a form of concern and a tangible manifestation of bankjatim in synergizing for development in this Pacitan Regency,” he said,

Meanwhile, Indrata Nur Bayuaji expressed his deepest gratitude to bankjatim for the CSR program that can already be enjoyed by the community. He hopes that this program will continue in the future. Because, in addition to being part of the face of Pacitan, the square is also a public space that can be utilized multifunctionally. Namely as a place for community recreation and the center of the people's economy.

“We really hope that the beauty of Pacitan square can also have a positive impact on traders and other economic actors who depend on their fortune in the center of this city. We want visitors to feel at home and enjoy the charm of this square which is the icon of Pacitan so that they linger here and buy MSME merchandise,” he said.
