SURABAYA, May 26, 2023. The commitment of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk or bankjatim to support exports in East Java is not just talk. Now bankjatim again provides its support by supporting the export of ginger company from Nganjuk, PT Astana Shoga Asia, to Bangladesh.

Director of Finance, Treasury, and Global Services bankjatim Edi Masrianto explained, Nganjuk has great commodity potential to be sent abroad. One of them is ginger. "This must continue to be encouraged and maximized. Therefore, bankjatim will fully support businesses in the region that go international because we also have an interest in always reviving the economy in each region, "he explained.

Edi emphasized that his party is ready to provide coaching to business people who already have plans to export. In addition, bankjatim will also continue to strive to facilitate banking services for entrepreneurs who have penetrated the global market. "We will also focus on carrying out the mission to make businesses, especially in East Java, can upgrade and enliven the foreign market," he said.

Because, according to Edi, exports have a significant role in the country's economic growth. Exports can expand the market for domestic products so that in addition to encouraging national production, exports also have the potential to create new jobs and contribute to the country's foreign exchange.

Director of PT Astana Shoga Asia, Timur Pradopo, expressed his gratitude to bankjatim for playing a major role in the success of his company's exports so far. "For ginger exports this year, God willing, we will run 7 Letters of Credit (L/C) in bankjatim," said the former journalist in one of the Kediri media.

According to him, it was not easy to get his business to this point. Many things must be fought for and sacrificed. "PT Asthana Shoga Asia was down and there was no activity at all during Covid-19 around 2020. Everything broke and none of our exports were running," explained Timur.

However, with a strong determination to succeed, Timur was finally able to rise again from the post-pandemic downturn. "My company was established in 2014 and from the beginning our business line was ginger exports. The countries we have explored for ginger shipment are Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Thank God, after being stuck due to COVID-19, starting in early 2023, we found another buyer from Bangladesh," he explained.

Timur hopes that cooperation with bankjatim in the future can continue and bring benefits to all parties, especially for ginger farmers. "We are happy because bankjatim not only provides capital assistance, but we are also given various kinds of input for the development of a more massive company," he said.
